Education issues about funding and management, say candidates

Rob Strang, candidate for the Green Party of Ontario, attacked the other three parties for not having a plan to balance the budget in the next term of office. “You’re absolutely right,” he said. “Debt is going to kill us.”
Strang said he would support the community’s volunteer work force by giving them more time to volunteer.
Strang localized the issue, stating the fundamental fix should be providing municipalities with the planning power they need to provide people with the jobs they seek.
“Vulnerable people need more than a cheque,” he said. “We need to give people a hand up to enable their independence. We need to make sure the jobs are available, especially in rural areas. We will change the tax rules and zoning to allow more processing on farms. We will reduce the payroll tax so that small businesses can hire people.”
